Jonathan D. Brown, Vice President and Director of IT Services, is an invaluable member of the Net Data Systems team. He brings over two decades of expertise and experience in cutting-edge computer networking and e-Mail system design. Jonathan's success has been built on his natural gift for helping clients find creative computer solutions to turn their ideas and business needs into practical reality.

Jonathan began his career as a Teacher’s Assistant at U.C. Riverside, helping students with their Unix OS, Pascal and Fortran lab assignments. Jonathan has written numerous technical reviews, guides and grants; he was first published at his second job (USDA) for development of a data collection system and scientific programming that reduced the turnaround time for data from source to final analysis from 2 months to 1 day.

He went on to develop network drivers in 8088 assembly code for Concurrent DOS at ACE Computers. He then completed his B.S. degree in Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. While there, he won a grant from Apple for work involving Robotics and Artificial Intelligence control systems.  

Jonathan's career then took him to NASA. He worked for the next 10 years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory doing Networks Systems Engineering and served on NASA's e-Mail design and engineering team.

Jonathan used his extensive experience at NASA to launch a career as an e-Mail consultant. He acquired a three month e-Mail design contract with Intel, followed by a staff position with Peloria (a small software design company). There he worked with large enterprises such as Warner Bros., Avery Denison and Disney to design e-Mail systems for their entire organizations. While at Peloria Jonathan wrote for the Cobb Journal’s (Ziff-Davis) cc:Mail Insider on a monthly basis.

After a few years, he left Peloria to start an independent consultancy – JDB Consulting – working on e-Mail design in cc:Mail and Exchange Server for large organizations (500 or more users).

JDB Consulting merged with Net Data Systems, Inc., where Jonathan Brown is now a principal.
